The World Drug Campaign 2011 - Global health starts with drug-free communities Descripción The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is leading the global campaign to raise awareness about the major challenge that illicit drugs represent to society as a whole, and especially to the young. The goal of the campaign is to mobilize support and inspire people to act against drug use. China apunta sus baterías culturales a Occidente Análisis de Antoaneta Becker LONDRES, ene (IPS) - El presidente de China, Hu Jintao, sorprendió al anunciar que su país se hallaba en una guerra cultural con Occidente, y al llamar a su pueblo a defenderse. Sus palabras, a comienzos de este mes, tocaron la fibra de los más leales funcionarios de gobierno en Beijing, dispuestos a promover la cultura china como nueva forma de expansión internacional. Pero intelectuales liberales expresaron su recelo, señalando que la promoción de una "industria cultural" podía esconder objetivos netamente económicos. "La cultura es quizás el último pastel sin cortar de China", afirmó Zhu Dake, investigador de la Universidad Tongji de Shanghai. "En el año de la transición del liderazgo, cuando todo es políticamente delicado, promover la cultura es fácil e incontrovertible", indicó.
